Thanksgiving Day hunts

It was a family tradition. At least, I remember it happening a couple times when I was a kid—the Thanksgiving Day hunts. My dad would lay out the gear and guns for the next day and instruct me on what to wear to keep warm while out in the field. When Its Time to Buy a Casket

Like most things in life, we don’t think about them until the need arises. You don’t consider getting a new car until the old one is in bad shape, and you don’t consider making major purchases until there is a specific need for it. Caskets are not the exception to this rule.  Not many people think about stopping buy a casket store or funeral home to choose their final resting place; not only are people uncomfortable doing that, many fear it is ‘jinxing’ yourself.

By the time you need a casket, there are so many other things on your mind; You’re dealing with the lose of a family member or close friend, your mind is occupied on making other funeral arrangements, what the insurance companies may or may not cover, not to mention the emotional distress. Its enough to distract you from making a wise purchase. Or, even worse, the emotional state could lead you to make a poor, spur of the moment decision. So consumed with your emotions, you’re unable to see clearly, and you’re left to make last minute decisions. This leads to being taken advantage of by curators who pray on people’s emotional states in a time like this, and so concerned about just “getting it over with” that you’ll pay quite a bit more than you should have just to put it all behind you.

Much like life insurance is bought until the assumption that sooner or later you’ll need it, one must treat shopping for a casket with the same regard. It could be the difference between spending thousands of dollars you don’t have to spare, and it can be one less thing to be concerned about what a loved one passes away. There are stores that specialize in this area, willing to help you find the best deal, and ready to assist in securing a casket for yourself of a loved one, long before you even need it. There is nothing wrong with being prepared for a situation, and nothing wrong with shopping around for the best possible deal, even in times of emotional hardship.
