A Quick Look at Patio Umbrella Lights

Patio umbrellas are an important piece of furniture for many people. These helpful devices look a lot like the umbrellas we use in the rain except they are much bigger. They sit on a mount such as a table to protect people from the blinding sun. However, they also have another purpose. With the installation of outdoor umbrella lights, you can enjoy your backyard at night too. Umbrellas like these make the perfect mounting points for lights because they are right above your head. Outdoor engagements like eating, talking and even reading can be enjoyed in clear visibility. They are not meant to illuminate a large area, but just the area directly below them.

There are different kinds of patio umbrella lights, each of which have slightly different functionality and features. If you love color, you might want to go with umbrella string lights. These lights are designed with style in mind, hanging off of the umbrella almost carelessly. Many strings of lights shine onto the table to light the way. They consist of many different light bulbs attached to electric strings at regular intervals. They are rated for outdoor use, so don’t worry about them getting damaged or causing electrocution.

If you care less about bright colors and simply want a functional light source, consider going with umbrella pole lights. These systems do not have light strings but instead focus the bulbs inside of a single mount. They use LED light bulbs which usually come in the color white. Some models have amber lights which supplement the white ones to keep flying pests away. Pole lights hold onto the pole tightly until moved. Many pole lights utilize rechargeable batteries so you don’t have to keep buying new ones every time they lose a charge. Others get their power from the sun by using a panel mounted on top of the umbrella.
